From the Left explores lateral bias in writing systems through the medium of typography and the writing experience. An experimental typeface designed for the natural left-handed stroke direction serves as the foundation for structured writing activities, guiding left-handed participants through progressively breaking the directionality conventions of the English writing system, highlighting the bias embedded within design systems and questioning the neutrality we assume in design.
